The Spaniard has not yet confirmed that he will continue with Aston Martin next year, but has already made it clear that he does not plan any announcement this weekend during the home race of the Spanish GP in Madrid.
With a difficult period with the British team in 2026, where he scored only three points in 13 rounds, the future is uncertain for the two-time world champion. Therefore, a return to the WEC, where he was champion with Toyota in 2018/19 and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, cannot be ruled out.

Alonso did not elaborate much, but when asked if he saw the World Endurance Championship as an option for 2027, he simply answered “yes.”
Focused only on the stage at the debut circuit in Madrid, he said that “the track seems difficult, first of all, to learn. It is very technical, requires going over the curbs a lot, and has some high-speed sections where you need to get very close to the walls, which is very attractive and provides a lot of adrenaline for the driver,” he said.
