Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP title contender, spoke about his very close relationship with Kimi Antonelli, current leader of Formula 1.

The Italian duo are fighting for the championship in their respective two- and four-wheel categories. In fact, the Aprilia regular was able to closely follow the Mercedes driver’s victory last weekend at the Italian GP.
Present in Monza, Bezzecchi, who also saw the 20-year-old rider’s helmet in tribute to his mentor Valentino Rossi, spoke about the friendship between the two. “Kimi and I are so close now that, a few days ago, I went to a friend’s house and found him there, as if nothing had happened,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We meet whenever we can and also talk and keep in touch frequently. Kimi is a big fan of Vale and has built a great relationship with him. I’m happy he decided to make a helmet in tribute to Vale for the Monza race, as the result was excellent. He showed me the images when he had the idea together with Aldo Drudi, and I knew it would look amazing,” he continued.

On August 25, Antonelli turned 20 and celebrated at a water park near the city of both, and Bezzecchi was present. “We had a lot of fun at AquaFan. Because of my injuries, I couldn’t go on all the slides, but it was still a great day. It was a way for everyone to relax before returning to racing,” he commented.
“We still haven’t managed to get him on a bike. Partly because he doesn’t want to, but mainly because he can’t, due to his F1 contract; if he could, I think he would take a lap. But I won’t give up; sooner or later, when the season ends, I’ll get him on a bike. I feel more comfortable with the bike; I leave the car to Kimi. I’ve never driven a real race car on track, just some tests, but maybe that will happen in the future; for now, though, I’m focused on MotoGP,” he concluded.
