Luke Browning shared valuable advice he received from Max Verstappen for his career. The Williams Formula 1 reserve driver revealed to GPblog how he keeps the important words said by the four-time world champion to himself.

This season, the Briton is working very closely with the team. Besides acting as a reserve, where he even drove in the free practice sessions of the Austrian and Italian GPs, he has also been racing in Super Formula.
In Monza, he took over Alexander Albon’s FW48 and finished 15th, one position ahead of Carlos Sainz. He has also spent a lot of time in the simulator and, as part of the Williams Driver Academy, has the opportunity to learn from experienced Formula 1 drivers.
Therefore, when commenting on the discussions with Verstappen, he told GPblog that valuable advice was that “he said not to overthink, which is quite funny. Because Max, right after, said: ‘believe in your talent, go out there and do the job.’”

“I think a lot of people overthink where they are going to brake, how they are going to do it. And these things happen so fast that sometimes trying to do that and at the same time stay in what we call the ‘flow state,’ which might sound a bit silly, but it’s basically when you can react faster by instinct than by thinking about performing an action…,” he continued.
“Sometimes, when the car moves under you in fractions of a millisecond, that’s the only way to react fast enough. So, I think you need to trust your ability to learn and prepare; and when you get to the circuit, don’t overthink every possible outcome, don’t try to analyze everything excessively. Just focus on what you’re doing. Do the job,” he concluded.
