Mike Krack dismisses the fact that Aston Martin could arrive at Madring this Formula 1 weekend capitalizing on the fact that the track is a newcomer to the calendar.

The layout in Madrid will host the Spanish GP after years of being built around the IFEMA Exhibition Center and near the airport. Therefore, with all teams arriving on an ‘equal footing’, it could bring a certain surprise to the race.
But Krack said it is even arrogant to think that this could bring something positive to the event. “We need to keep our feet on the ground. We are where we are. We have a new track that we need to get to know. We need to see,” he said.
“We did our preparation, but let’s not forget that we only missed Q1 once. We had a participation in Q2 this year. So, talking about Q3, I think it would even be a bit arrogant,” he continued.

Madring has drawn attention due to its challenging layout, and after the Formula 3 test featured 11 red flags, it raised concerns about possible incidents with Formula 1.
But if that is the case, Mike highlighted that “this applies to a normal qualifying; what I mean is that if there is chaos or something like that, you need to be prepared. We try to prepare as much as possible, but on the weekend, when all your knowledge is based on simulations and doing laps to observe the track, you need to start conservatively and build that knowledge step by step.”
“You need to try to do this better than the competition, but the competitors are also very strong. In the end, I don’t expect any big surprises. But if the situation gets chaotic, you need to be there and try to take advantage of the opportunities. The same goes for Sunday,” he added.
