After the restart, Lindblad faced a more solitary race using the hard tires, with few overtaking opportunities. Even so, the driver considered that the pace shown by Alpine throughout the weekend made the result a good way to limit losses.

“It was a positive race for us, and it’s great to get some points in one of our home races, with Yuki and I finishing in the top 10. After the restart, it was a bit of a lonely race for me when we were on the hard tires, as there weren’t many overtakes to make,” Lindblad said.

He also assessed that eighth position would be the maximum possible this Sunday, reinforcing that Alpine’s performance required a more conservative approach: “I think P8 was the best result we could have achieved today, and considering the pace Alpine showed during the weekend, it was a good damage limitation race for us,” he added.

Now, Lindblad turns his attention to Madrid next weekend, where he expects to find a very technical circuit. He revealed having driven on the new track in the simulator and highlighted the team’s work to keep a competitive car on different layouts: “It’s a circuit for real drivers. I think it will be fun, but it will also present some challenges as it is a very technical track,” he concluded.
