Tsunoda returned to race this weekend to continue substituting Liam Lawson, who is at Red Bull Racing in place of the injured Isack Hadjar. After a difficult qualifying session and a start further back, the Japanese driver managed to advance in the pack and reached tenth place at the finish line.
The problem occurred after the red flag caused by Leclerc’s heavy accident. When the cars were lining up on the grid for the restart, Tsunoda positioned himself in the wrong place, leading race control to initiate an aborted start procedure.

The incident is now being analyzed by the FIA stewards, who summoned the Japanese driver to provide clarifications. The investigation may directly affect the point earned by Tsunoda, should a penalty be applied that changes his final position in Monza.
