Lando Norris, Ayumu Iwasa, and Nico Hülkenberg participated this Thursday in another day of Pirelli testing at Mugello, focusing on the development of the three hardest compounds for the 2027 Formula 1 season. The work concentrated on the C1, C2, and C3 options.

Iwasa was the only one of the three to try all the compounds. The Japanese driver mainly worked with C1 and C2 before conducting some additional evaluations with the C3 in the afternoon. Norris, on the other hand, dedicated the entire schedule to C2 and used the afternoon session to deepen the tests of the solutions considered most promising in the morning.
Hülkenberg split his program between C2 and C3 and was the one who accumulated the most mileage during the day. The Audi driver completed 121 laps, equivalent to 635 kilometers, and recorded a best time of 1min24s012.
Norris covered 603 kilometers in 115 laps and posted the best time among the three, with 1min21s899. Iwasa completed 117 laps, totaling 614 kilometers, and closed his participation with 1min23s414.

Over the two days of activities at Mugello, which also included Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson on Wednesday, 2,948 kilometers were covered. The track temperature reached 52°C this Thursday.
The next session dedicated to the development of dry-weather tires is scheduled for September 15 and 16, in Imola. Ferrari and Racing Bulls will be the teams involved in the continuation of Pirelli’s program.
