Max Verstappen will swap Formula 1 for Karting in an unusual challenge. The four-time world champion will face 100 drivers simultaneously in a special race at Silverstone.

Named ‘Max vs 100’, the event will take place on September 16 and will place Verstappen at the back of the grid, with the mission to overtake all 100 opponents. The race will be broadcast live worldwide on Disney+.
This Kart track at Silverstone was specially prepared for the occasion by David Terrien, race director, French driver, and Kart designer. The challenge will also mark Verstappen’s return to Kart competitions, a category in which he won several titles in 2013 before moving up to formula cars.
Verstappen highlighted that the experience will be an opportunity to reconnect with fundamentals that were part of his training: “In Karting you learn all the fundamentals: starts, defense, overtaking. Of course, I spent a large part of my life in Karting, so it’s always good to come back,” he said.

The Red Bull Racing driver also explained that adapting to Karting should happen naturally due to the experience accumulated over the years: “It’s about understanding the grip of the Kart. I did so many years of Karting that you naturally get back into the rhythm,” he added.
The production will have elements inspired by video games, drone footage, and race data displayed in real time. In one of the event’s peculiarities, Verstappen will also be able to communicate directly with the other competitors during the race: “I’m looking forward to just seeing the chaos unfold in front of me,” the Dutchman concluded.
