Gabriel Bortoleto starred in a scene still in the first lap of the Dutch Grand Prix of Formula 1. This Sunday (23), the driver ended up spinning after hitting a wet part of the asphalt, but the driver admitted that this hardly influenced the final result.

The passage in Zandvoort had been quite positive for Audi, with the Brazilian lining up in ninth position on the grid. However, shortly after the start, at the end of the first lap and beginning of the second, when he was on the main straight, he ended up spinning and dropping to 18th – shortly ahead, Max Verstappen spun as well, but crashed and retired.
Gabriel stayed on the track and trying to recover, crossed the finish line in 13th. Explaining about the race, he said that the spin hardly mattered for the final result. “I saw Max, I didn’t know it was him, obviously, but I saw smoke coming out up front,” he told SporTV.

“I think instinctively I must have reacted and gone a little to the left, and when I did that I hit an even wetter part, lost the rear of the car, did a 360º and came back. But I don’t think it would have changed much, to be honest with you, doing that 360º or not, the problem today was really the pace, it was horrible, and that’s it,” he continued.
“A shame, because throughout the whole weekend we showed good pace, in yesterday’s race it was excellent, and today… the problem was having to spend the whole race already knowing what was happening and it was painful to deal with all that again knowing there is a problem,” he concluded.
