Yuki Tsunoda spoke about his return to Formula 1 at least for this Sunday’s (23) Dutch GP, giving a positive assessment of the weekend defending Racing Bulls.

The Japanese was called up to take Liam Lawson’s spot in Zandvoort, who was summoned to replace Isack Hadjar at Red Bull after the Frenchman suffered a wrist injury – Yuki is the reserve after being left without a seat in the 2026 season.
Speaking about his performance, Tsunoda showed satisfaction with how quickly he adapted to the new car. “Honestly, I think I managed to improve faster than I expected. I only drove four times in the eight months since the last race in Abu Dhabi; so, considering that, I did very well,” he said.

“I thank Red Bull for keeping me sharp with the simulator and everything else. But, certainly, I really enjoyed the experience as a whole. I think I gave 100% of what was possible at my current stage. I think I performed very well,” he continued.
“I think the overall balance was positive, as well as the performance I showed. Now, it’s up to my manager and the teams that have not yet finalized their line-ups for the future to decide if they want to hire me or not, but they should. They should call me,” he concluded.
