Alex Albon confirmed that he will continue with Williams in the 2027 Formula 1 season, even after a frustrating year for the team. The driver believes that the current difficulties are not enough to change his view of the project.

In 2026, Williams hoped to take advantage of the regulation change to move up the grid, but ended up facing a strong setback. The scenario made the team review its deadlines to return to competing for top positions, but Albon states that a single difficult year does not change his confidence in the work developed since his arrival.
“A difficult year does not tell the whole story I have had with Williams, and I have seen progress year after year. Of course, it has been a frustrating year so far, but that does not make me stop believing in this team, in its ambitions, and in what I believe it can achieve,” Albon said.
For the Thai-British driver, the problems faced in 2026 also triggered an important reaction within the organization. Albon highlighted the effort made at the factory to understand the difficulties and believes that this process can help solve limitations that have accompanied the car for years.

“Although it has been a difficult year, the team’s response at the factory and the work done to understand our problems have been enormous. In many ways, it seems we needed this difficult moment to accelerate some of the more aggressive plans and fix fundamental problems with the car that have been holding us back for years,” he added.
He continued, saying he had never seen Williams tackle a problem with such intensity since he became part of the team: “I really believe we will find the reasons why we are going through these difficulties,” concluded Albon, who is now already planning to stay with the team also in 2027.
