The Mexican competitor was left without a spot on the category’s grid at the end of 2024, after not delivering competitive results to Red Bull. After spending 2025 on the sidelines, he then found his way back to the pack through the rookie team.
And since then, he has faced a year of adaptation for Cadillac – he has not scored after 11 rounds, and when asked if he feels more freedom by being part of the team’s project, he answered “yes. Yes, definitely.”

“I am very happy, to be honest. I am happy, I am enjoying it, but, as I said, I need more. I am a racing driver and I am here for performance,” he added.
