Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac, and Marcin Budkowski, the new team principal, commented on recent rumors of a possible move of Sergio Pérez to Williams for the 2027 Formula 1 season.

The week was full of activity for the 2026 rookie team, as they announced the departure of Graeme Lowdon and the arrival of Budkowski midway through the championship. And during an interview, the executive highlighted the great work the Mexican has done throughout the year.
“As far as I know, thanks to conversations I had with Dan, but also with other people from the team, he has not only driven exceptionally, but has also demanded a lot from the team behind the scenes,” he said.
“This is to be expected from a driver like him, who has been at Red Bull for years and lives with the best. I believe this is the mentality we are looking for, and it is also the mentality I will bring with me. Therefore, I am sure we will be fully aligned in terms of mentality and determination,” he continued.

Towriss agreed with Budkowski’s statement, taking the opportunity to downplay the rumors involving Williams. “I would reinforce everything Marcin said. Checo has been a key piece for the team. He has driven very well and certainly has given his best,” he pointed out.
“I am very confident that Checo will stay with Cadillac; we are not distracted for even a second by the rumors about Williams. We have great confidence in the relationship we have here and the certainty that you will see him driving the Cadillac F1 car,” he concluded.
