The Red Bull driver has divided his attention to other motorsport categories, and this year he even competed in the legendary 24 Hours of Nürburgring with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella, and Lucas Auer. The trio fought for the victory, but a problem with the car left them stuck in the pits for three hours.
In an interview with RacingNews365, the Dutchman emphasized that he does not want different treatment on the endurance racing grid. “I don’t want to act like a superstar or, you know, think I need to behave differently just because I’m a Formula 1 driver,” he explained.

“I love racing, I love endurance racing, and I enjoy working with my teammates in the same car and dealing with traffic on the track, all those things. Driving at night for the first time was, honestly, a fantastic experience, simply fantastic.”
