Lewis Hamilton’s recovery at Ferrari was praised by former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger. The Austrian highlighted the evolution of the seven-time world champion after a disappointing 2025 season and stated that the Briton seems to have overcome the most difficult period since his arrival at the Italian team.

In an interview with the official F1 website, Berger celebrated Ferrari’s return to the front positions this year and commented on Hamilton’s reaction: “Overall, we are all very happy when we see a winning Ferrari. Ferrari is Ferrari. I was also very happy for Lewis, because it has been very difficult for him.”
“He came to Ferrari and wanted to repeat his past success. Suddenly, he found himself in a difficult situation from a technical point of view, but also on the teammate side – a very fast teammate,” he continued. “For Lewis, last year was very tough, but now it seems he is coming out of that situation a bit.”

After not achieving any podiums in 2025 and constantly being behind Charles Leclerc, Hamilton is experiencing a different scenario in 2026. Before the summer break, the Briton holds second place in the drivers’ championship, with one win and four other podiums.
