Zak Brown closed a ‘painful and long’ chapter they had been facing recently. The McLaren Formula 1 executive spoke about the conclusion of the legal dispute between the British team and Alex Palou, recently decided.

The Indy champion has been in a court battle against the Woking-based team for some time now. The reason was that the High Court in London had ruled that he had breached two separate agreements with McLaren.
After a five-week trial, the Chip Ganassi driver was ordered to pay more than US$ 12 million in damages. Subsequently, the Spaniard shared his side of the story in a long statement on social media.
Then, in Australia, the McLaren CEO revealed relief at the decision in favor of the English team and that everything was finally resolved, while admitting that he never wanted the situation to have escalated.

“It was a long and painful process, but the goal was to ensure that the truth came out. And I think the statement he released accurately reflects what we knew, so I’m glad that’s behind us. I’m also glad that everyone now knows how it all ended,” he commented.
“It’s unfortunate. I wouldn’t want to go through that again, I’m sure he wouldn’t either, but I’m glad our name, so to speak, has been cleared, because there was a lot of defamation at the beginning and now I think it’s quite clear. We did everything we said we would do and even more, so I’m satisfied with that,” he concluded.
