Red Bull remains determined to achieve victories in Formula 1 this season and promises to maintain the development of the RB22 until the end of the championship. According to technical director Pierre Waché, the team already has an update plan to make the car capable of competing for triumphs with Max Verstappen or Isack Hadjar again.

The topic arose a year after Verstappen stated, at the 2025 Hungarian GP, that he doubted Red Bull would achieve new victories that season. After the summer break, however, the team managed to react, returned to winning races, and the Dutchman even competed for the title until the final stages. Questioned again about the topic this Thursday, at Hungaroring, Verstappen joked before answering seriously. “Maybe I should repeat that and then we’ll have a good end to the season. I’ll repeat it just for fun,” he said, laughing. He then added: “I don’t know. These are very different scenarios compared to what we were experiencing at that time with the regulations and what we are doing now.”
After FP1 of the Hungarian GP, Waché was asked about the four-time champion’s statements and did not rule out the possibility of a victory this year. “It’s hard to say. Seeking victories this season is our goal,” he stated.

The director also guaranteed that the development of the RB22 will continue even after the summer break. “We are trying to improve the car. We clearly have a development plan until the end of the year. Everything we can do to improve the car, learn how these regulations work, and understand how development can affect the car’s characteristics and performance, we are trying to do,” he explained.
Waché acknowledged, however, that the regulations impose limitations on the project’s progress. “Certainly, in terms of efficiency, there are some limitations in the regulations that can restrict what we do. But everything we can do to make the car capable of winning, whether with Max or with Isack, we will do,” he concluded.
