At Spa-Francorchamps, the Finn managed to avoid problems to bring the MAC-26 home – among the drivers who finished, he was ahead only of Fernando Alonso. “It was another challenging race for us, but we managed to finish with one car, which provides us with valuable data for learning,” he said.
“We still have work to do, especially regarding reliability and tire degradation, but everyone on the team is working hard to improve. We need to keep pushing, because when the results finally come, they will be even more rewarding. I hope the Hungary track suits us better and, if we manage to get everything right in qualifying, you never know what might be possible,” he added.

Meanwhile, Checo had a problem with the inner rear suspension and had to retire on the 13th lap of 44 in Belgium. “It was an unfortunate end to the race. I had a failure in the inner rear suspension and we had to withdraw the car from the race,” he said.
“We are still investigating the causes. It was a tough weekend as we struggled a lot with speed on the straights — even during the race, I was losing a few tenths and we couldn’t compete for long with Esteban [Ocon]’s Haas, but I hope we can fix this for Hungary. I’m looking forward to that and to coming back stronger there,” he concluded.
