The tribute also takes place in the year that marks 60 years since the team’s debut in the category. McLaren’s first participation in F1 occurred precisely at the 1966 Monaco GP, when Bruce McLaren led the team to the grid of the premier category of world motorsport for the first time.

Hamilton and Alonso, who were teammates at McLaren during the 2007 season, were part of a lineup composed of former team winners. The group brought together 11 of the 15 still-living drivers who achieved victories with the British team throughout its history in Formula 1.

The category’s president and CEO, Stefano Domenicali, also participated in the celebration held in the Principality. The meeting highlighted the historical relevance of McLaren, one of the most traditional and victorious teams in the category.
