Considered by many to be the greatest driver of the pre-World War II era, the Italian built a remarkable career behind the wheel of Auto Union Type D cars in the late 1930s. Auto Union, years later, would give rise to the current Audi.
The tribute will be present during the Monaco GP, with drivers Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto using special elements inspired by Nuvolari. The initiative marks the first time Audi has presented a commemorative visual identity since its arrival in Formula 1.

Known by the nickname “Flying Mantuan”, Nuvolari accumulated expressive achievements throughout his career. Among his main triumphs are 24 Grand Prix victories, in addition to the Mille Miglia and 24 Hours of Le Mans titles, results that helped consolidate his status as one of the greatest references in motorsport history.

Nuvolari’s career ended in April 1950, just one month before the first Grand Prix valid for the Formula 1 World Championship, held at Silverstone on May 13 of that year. Now, more than seven decades later, Audi has chosen the legendary Italian driver as inspiration for a special celebration on one of the category’s most traditional stages.
