Isack Hadjar was the first driver to cause a red flag at the Formula 1 Monaco GP. Still in the first free practice session this Friday (5), the Red Bull driver crashed into the protection wall and interrupted the session.

The competitor was coming through the Swimming Pool chicane on a fast lap when the RB22 ended up losing its rear, going over the curb. As a result, he hit the barrier and immediately damaged his car, losing the front wing and one of the tires.

First a yellow flag was deployed, but shortly after a red flag interruption with just under 24 minutes remaining in the session. Immediately after the crash, Hadjar came on the radio to say that he “doesn’t understand why the rear went out like that.”

Despite the scare, Isack managed to get out of his Red Bull on his own without any major apparent injuries. Free practice 1 in Monte Carlo restarted with just under 17 minutes remaining until the checkered flag.
