F1: Cadillac brings new update package for Monaco GP

Cadillac arrives at the Monaco GP with another round of updates for the MAC-26, intensifying development work in its debut season in Formula 1. The American team is betting on aerodynamic innovations to try to reduce the gap to its rivals and continue its progress in the championship.

After bringing the first updates to the Miami GP and continuing the work in Canada, the team will now bring changes to the street stage of Monte Carlo, marking the third consecutive weekend with news for Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas.

Among the planned changes is a new rear wing, developed to generate more downforce. The lack of downforce has been pointed out as one of the main limitations of the MAC-26, especially on circuits that require strong performance in low-speed corners, a hallmark of Monaco.

Cadillac also confirmed modifications in the exhaust area. Although the details have not been fully revealed, the solution seems to follow a similar line to that already adopted by other teams to accommodate an aerodynamic appendage capable of increasing downforce at the rear of the car. Until now, it used only a small vertical divider in this area, but the new configuration promises a more significant effect.

Graeme Lowdon highlighted the complexity of the challenge the team will face on the Monaco circuit. “For all teams, but especially for a new team, Monaco is a huge challenge,” he said. The executive also emphasized recent advances and explained that the goal is to keep evolving: “Our goal will be to introduce more updates and have a smooth weekend, without problems. The fact that Cadillac is starting to be considered exactly like the other teams reflects that expectations of us are higher than before, but we are only in our sixth race since our debut. Our goal remains to improve.”
